PRACTICE MAKES PERFECTLY

Hey there,

I accidentally deleted this on Marsedit and don’t now if I can get it back so I’ll just redo.

I’ve had a fair bit of time taken up with attempting to recover money from an unpaid invoice and my deposit and additional money from my Dutch apartment which has left me me un an ungood mood, which has affected the last image in particular I think.

At any rate, I’m enjoying this and can defiantly see progress, which is nice. The 3rd – sly smile image is my favourite.

Portrait Pratical

Once again I am trying to actually do something with my blog (I find it very difficult to bring myself to say blog) and I really don’t know if this even gets looked at so I hope I’m not talking to myself as that is the first sign of madness, I’m told.

Anyway I’ll carry on in the same way I like to shout at nobody in a bus station. Since I have some spare time I am taking the opportunity to practice my drawing skills by drawing a series of portraits (outside of all the other charming aspects of running freelance business). Something I haven’t done for a while.

I am largely focussing on hair, which is the only thing I am referencing as well as making a big effort to draw a wider variety of expressions. I have ordered The Artist’s Complete Guide to Facial Expression by Gary Faigin which is apparently very good and has a picture of a smiling man on the cover.

Here we are so far..
